Reach & Teach are proud to announce the launch of the first annual R&T Community Classic, taking place this year at Larkhall Park in Lambeth, on Sunday, 21st June. The 'Classic' will consist of a 4 team basketball tournament, showcasing a mix of the very best talent in British basketball, competing for a place on an elite team that will travel over to Paris and represent the UK in the biggest international streetball tournament in Europe, the Quai 54. With hundreds of the best players across the UK coveting one of just 10 available spots, the competition is set to be highly charged, unbelievably skilled and incredibly entertaining.

Run in partnership with Sports Action Zone and supported by Lambeth Council and Larkhall Project, the Community Classic is also aimed at being a fun day for the whole family, inviting the local community to come out and socialise with one another in a positive setting which will also feature:

  'Slam Dunk' Competition

  Live DJ's & Music

   Competitions, Prizes & Giveaways 

  Barbecue & Refreshments 

   'Healthy Eating' Stations  

Each of the teams in the basketball tournament are named after attributes that represent the characteristics of a positive community (Respect, Strength, Pride & Unity), underpinning our commitment to helping build stronger, safer, more united neighbourhoods using the game of basketball as the tool. The teams feature many of the UK's finest 'stars' and 'rapidly rising' players, home for the summer 'off-season' from professional teams in Europe or college teams in America. Working with these top-ranked players, we aim to instill a sense of communal responsibility and an understanding of how they can 'give back' to the community through the positive influence of their basketball talents on the next generation.

The event and all activities are 100% free and kick off with a 2 hour coaching clinic at 10am, for boys and girls aged 8-16. Please note: places on the clinic are limited and will be awarded on a 'first come, first served' basis. All participants will be required to submit a participation form, signed by a parent or guardian on the day. No form, no play!

The tournament gets underway at 12:30pm and runs through to approximately 6pm.
