In advance of the upcoming CBL 2014-2015 season, Reach & Teach are proud to announce a new partnership with NBA2K15 which will see the biggest basketball game title in the world join forces with London’s biggest grassroots basketball league.
The exciting new agreement positions NBA2K15 as league-wide sponsor, underpinning their commitment to helping grow the sport at the grassroots level while working with the league in reaching new fans and inviting them to get involved with the CBL.
In announcing the new sponsorship deal, Reach & Teach CEO Nhamo Shire said:
“These are exciting times for community basketball as the CBL continues to grow from strength to strength! We’ve got more young Londoners playing basketball now than ever before and yet we’re still just scratching the surface for where our sport is heading in terms of participation and fan support. This new deal with 2K Sports is a testament to the health, recognised growth and future potential many brands are now starting to see in our game in London and beyond. 2K Sports are the world leader in basketball console gaming and have simply the best and most realistic basketball gaming experience ever produced, in NBA2K15. To be able to bring them into grassroots basketball in England is great for our sport overall and absolutely fantastic for the CBL. We’re looking forward to a great season ahead and continuing to reach new fans, new players and new coaches through our new partnership”.
About the CBL:
The Community Basketball League (CBL) is the biggest grassroots league in England and provides both regular league and cup/trophy competitions for thousands of players across the capital.
The CBL organise competitions for both males and females for U12, U14, U16, U18, U20 and U25 divisions in regionally located central venues, where all teams within a division play on the same court, enabling us to share resources and provide a tournament-like atmosphere every week. We cover all games online with weekly game reports, MVP’s, league standings and player/team features – keeping players, coaches and supporters all connected to London’s leading grassroots action.
The aim of the league is to provide an exciting competitive outlet for both new and emerging teams across the city. The CBL makes it easier for community basketball teams to enter into organised competitions without the heavy financial outlay of hiring basketball courts, refs, officials, insurance and all the other costs that make participating in National League competition difficult and often prohibitive for local clubs.
Through the partnership with the London School of Basketball, the CBL reaches thousands of young Londoners every week, delivering positive messaging while developing character and transferable life-skills through sports built around our 4 core values:
- Respect – Self-respect and respect for all other people. Treat others how you wish to be treated.
- Unity – Teamwork makes the dream work. Through basketball we teach the values of working together and co-operation.
- Pride – Expect more for yourself and of yourself. Be an upstanding member of your community and a role model for others.
- Strength – Persistence beats resistance. Work hard, prepare properly and be the best you can be.
