MIDNIGHT MADNESS RULES OF THE GAME

Show ‘n’ Prove Courts:

  1. All players wishing to participate on court must have correctly registered for participation and filled out the waiver form prior to consideration.
  2. Registered players must the approach a Court Monitor on the court which they are to play and have their names entered onto the order of play board.
  3. If a player loses, he/she is responsible for re-registering with the court monitor to play again.
  4. Winner stays on. Regular scoring rules apply: 2 points for a regular field goal and 3 points for a 3 point field goal. However, there are no free throws at this stage of the competition.
  5. Players cannot foul out of this stage of the competition, however a player who continually and repeatedly fouls intentionally may be removed from the game at the discretion of the Court Monitor.
  6. All games are to 11, or whoever is up after 12 minutes running clock. In the event of a tie, team will play an extra 30 seconds – or until the first team scores (which ever comes first). In the event of scores being tied after the extra period of time, both teams will automatically come off and be replaced by the next waiting 2 teams.
  7. In the event of extra time, a Court Monitor will officiate the extra time period. Any defensive foul committed will result in a free throw for the offensive team.
  8. Players call own fouls during regular play. No weak calls. Play hard but fair. In the event of weak calls continually being made, a Court Monitor will take over responsibility for making calls.
  9. Players are responsible for being ready to go on court when their team is called up. If a player is not ready and available, he/she will lose their place.
  10. Players will be selected for the Elite Court by the scouting staff and will be announced prior to the start of Elite Court play. Once a player has been announced he/she must go and collect their Elite Court vest and register their name with the Court Monitor on the Elite Court.
  11. The Court Monitor’s decision on ANY dispute is FINAL.
  12. The organisers reserve the right to remove anyone from the games, or an event at any time, or any future events.

Elite Court:

  1. Show ‘n’ Prove players will have an opportunity to qualify for the Elite Court throughout the event; however, please be advised that Elite Court places are limited and given to players who display the most skill and/or potential in any of the areas the scouts are looking for.
  2. All players will be listed on the order of play board by Court Monitors.
  3. If a player loses, he/she is responsible for re-registering with the court monitor to play again.
  4. Games on the Elite Court will be coached by MM provided coaches. Players are expected to be respectful and positive towards their coaches and team mates at all times.
  5. Winner stays on. Regular scoring rules apply: 2 points for a regular field goal and 3 points for a 3 point field goal. Free-throws count for 1 and are awarded if a player is fouled in the act of shooting, just like a normal game.
  6. All games are to 11, or whoever is up after 12 minutes running clock. In the event of a tie, team will play an extra 30 seconds – or until the first team scores (which ever comes first). In the event of scores being tied after the extra period of time, both teams will automatically come off and be replaced by the next waiting 2 teams.
  7. All Elite Court games will be officiated by referees who will be promoting hard but fair play. Players are not permitted to argue with the referee in any instance and should direct all queries to their coach.
  8. Players are individually responsible for being ready to go on court when their team is called up. If a player is not ready and available, he/she will lose their place.
  9. Arguing or behaving in a disruptive, threatening or abusive manner will not be tolerated at any time.
  10. The Court Monitors decision on ANY dispute is FINAL
