Lions Lose Out To Hungry Wolves

London Lions dropped a close game game on the road in BBL action against the reigning BBL Playoff Champions, Worcester Wolves 78-83 in Zaire Taylor’s first return to his former club.

Taylor came out of the gate smoking, hitting a number of ‘all-too-familiar’ downtown 3-point bombs in front of a rowdy Worcester University crowd on his way to a team-high 19 points.  However, Wolves big man Robert Thurman proved too much for the Lions frontline to handle as he powered his way to a dominant 23 point and 9 rebound outing – drawing 11 fouls from the London ‘big men’ in the process.

Jamal Williams once again proved why he is regarded as one of the most important players on the Wolves roster, with a succession of big shots and timely passes that pushed the Wolves to the brink of victory, enroute to a 14 point personal haul.  Williams was aided brilliantly by Midnight Madness champion Disraeli Lufadeju, who provided a  game-changing spark off of the Wolves bench, hitting 2 huge 3 pointers and playing disruptive defense on Taylor during crucial phases of the game.

“We knew this would be a tough match up and we’ve been working hard in practise in preparation for today” Lufadeju said.  “I’m happy to have contributed to the team win as I’ve really been putting in alot of extra work in the gym since coming back from Midnight Madness in the summer and am looking to continue to improve and help our team to future wins this season, however I can” he concluded.
