CBL Returns For 2014-2015 Season

London’s biggest grassroots community basketball league returns new and improved for the 2014-2015 season.  The CBL officially gets underway in early November, providing regular central venue matches for U12, U14, U16, U18, U20 & U25 males and females.

The CBL provides exciting, well-organised league competitions at affordable prices for developing community clubs across the capital.  As the main ‘development league’ across the region, the CBL strives to take away the financial and time intensive burden of finding referees, booking venues and all other rising costs that are associated with entering teams into regular National League competition, making it easier for new teams to get involved in regular basketball competitions against similar standard teams from across London.

CBL venues are typically easy to get to, officiated by Basketball England accredited officials, with all scores, results and weekly game MVP’s being updated online – making the league a popular choice for both brand new teams who are looking for their first taste of organised competition, through to more established community based clubs who need the extra games to provide more playing experience for their developing players.

Deadline for 2014-2015 applications closes on Friday 17th October, with the season registration fee being set at just £200 for the whole season – which provides teams with a minimum of 8 officiated games over the course of the season, playoffs, finals, trophies and (fresh for the 2014-2015 season) entry into the all-new CBL Challenge Cup.  Participating teams will also benefit from access to discounted basketball kits, balls and equipment, in addition to discounted tickets to watch London’s only professional basketball team, the London Lions, live at the Copper Box Arena on the Olympic Park.

It’s an exciting time in community basketball across the capital and we invite you to get involved and be part of what everyone is talking about while spaces remain available:
