CBL U16’s Week 1 Round Up

The Community Basketball League tipped off with fast and furious action across the U16 East, West and Central divisions down at Crystal Palace on Sunday 9th November. With new teams UC Ducks, Dagenham Dragons, Frenford Falcons and CBA Lions all in action, there was an air of excitement throughout the day as teams clamoured to see what the new competition would bring.

They didn’t disappoint.

UC Ducks lost out by just 1 point in a thriller against the new and improved Barnet Bulldogs A team in the West, while Frenford Falcons secured their first win against the Dragons in the East.  CBA Lions put in a valiant effort against former CBL champions Haringey Hawks, but ultimately came up short, losing out 29-39.

In the Central Conference the Croydon Cougars sent an early season statement to the whole division with 2 convincing wins agains Sutton All-Stars and then the Kennington Generals, while the Enfield Scorpions secured a comfortable victory over Islington’s A2S.
