CBL Week 4 Recap: Under 16s Roundup

Brent Ballers continued their strong start to the season in the CBL U16 Boys division with a commanding display of team work, hot shooting and relentless defense in their 59-8 win against the developing Barnet East Giants. Gintaras, Croydon Cougars and Haringey 76ers also all registered comfortable wins over Frenford, Enfield, and Dagenham, respectively.

In their first game of the season the Edmonton County Cavaliers turned heads with an impressive 41-36 victory over Access 2 Sport – not least because several people continued to question the age of game MVP Jelanee Donaldson who’s ‘James Harden-like‘ beard fast became the talking point of the day!  The league can indeed confirm, Jelanee turned 16 this season and is eligible to play in the U16 division:

Kennington Generals picked up a good win against the spirited Sutton All-Stars, behind confident play of young Darnelle Sharpe-Kelly who picked up game MVP honours in the 29-21 win:

In the most closely contested game of the day, Karol Zdyb led a well balanced London Pulse attack to victory over a strong UC Ducks squad, holding his nerve in the clutch to sink the crucial free-throws that ultimately got his team the win:
