CBL Week 5 Recap: Under 18 Boys Roundup

CBL U18 action saw West London based UC Ducks win a close 3 point game over North London’s CONEL Warriors. Westminster Warriors, led by savvy guard Malik Donegal, saw off a competitive challenge from Brent Ballers, eventually running out to a 53-33 win.  In Warriors second game of the day, Donegal had a much easier time in leading his ‘green machine’ to a comfortable 51-8 win over the Ducks.

Haringey Hawks continued to show their undeniable on-court prowess with a 27 point win against Brent Blazers, behind Lumear Small – the younger brother of CBL All-Star Javel Small.  Lumear is emerging as an athletic, ‘do-it-all’ guard  who defends well and gets out in transition.  In a league of ‘future stars’ Small may be one to keep an eye on.

Southwark Legends won a close and entertaining game against London Pulse, 37-33.  Raphael Falconer emerged as the game MVP, highlighting a strong all-around game effort from the Legends against the well-organised London Pulse.

Although his team didn’t ultimately get the win, special mention was made of Demani from the London Pulse who is undoubtedly a player to watch for the future and a prospective league MVP candidate.
